A beautiful journey

Cape Town Passion Project

Pre production - Done
Shooting Wrapped
Now for the final hurdle - in post production!

I was Here

Written by Dianna Ippolito

This beautiful story is about unexpected relationships, the real value of a friend and the hope of leaving behind a some trace of ourselves. Short and bittersweet, the script portrays a short journey with unexpected twists. This film aims to explore tender glimpses of living and dying - things we all so desperately try to control. Currently in post production, we have assembled an amazing group of passionate filmmakers aiming to create a top quality short film to screen at as many festivals as possible!

The team:

Writer: Dianna Ippolito (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2074778/). Winner of international short film and writer's awards, Dianna has found a fascinating subject and is fine tuning what is already a beautiful script.

Production and cast:

Producer and Actor: Estelle Terblanche (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5665010/). Originally theatre trained, Estelle has spent the last seven years working in the film industry, doing short films, films and series. After looking for a project to sink her nails into, Estelle begged Dianna for the chance to produce one of her scripts!

Actor and Assistant-Producer: Rowan Studti (https://www.facebook.com/RowanStudtiProductions/). Not only a talented actor, Rowan is everywhere in Cape Town film! From Production to on set assistance, he is learning the industry inside and out and joined the team as co-producer and leading man.

Camera Department:

Director: Wynne Bredenkamp (https://za.linkedin.com/in/wynne-bredenkamp-809...). Considered one of the up and coming directors in South African theatre, Wynne hopes to make her first film a memorable one. With a background in Casting, she has wonderful experience with the camera and a natural feel for creating strong visual imagery.

Director of Photography: Pieter Seyffert (https://pieterseyffert.wordpress.com/) Pieter has more than 10 years experience in both South Africa and New Zealand’s television and film industry. He spends most of his time shooting crisp and vivid imagery for clients around the world. It’s his passion, it’s what he loves and that is why he is great at what he does.

Assistant Director/Continuity: Danielle Salmon (https://za.linkedin.com/in/danielle-salmon-73743989), actress, production assistant and all round creative. Danielle started out as our continuity and quickly stepped up to the plate as AD when we needed her.

Camera and Lighting assistant: Martin Greeff has no background or training in film and came on board as a general assistant, but showed amazing enthusiasm and quick learning skills. We quickly realised he was very capable of taking on the important duties when our original camera assistant unfortunately had to drop out.

Sound:

On set Sound: Deon Knipe (https://za.linkedin.com/in/deon-knipe-48075969) is a music Producer, Post Production Engineer, Bass Player, Songwriter and Sound Production Student at SAE Institute.  He is deeply passionate about recording sounds, mixing songs and composing music. Looking to do more film work, Deon jumped on board as soon as we asked him to join the team.

Sound assistant: Liam Culbert (@liamculbert) moved to Cape Town from East London to study music at the Campus of Performing Arts. He will receive his BA Degree in Sound and Music from Afda at the end of this year. Great on sound and happy to help with other tasks.

Musician/Song writer: Paul de Viliers will be writing and performing an original song. As found member of The Colours Red and Blue (https://www.facebook.com/thecoloursrednblue/) Paul is a regular installation in the Cape Town club scene and he has just released his first EP

Art Department:

Costumes, Hair and Make up: Tara Bowden is a student at one of our top film schools. She has already gained some on set experience and will be expanding her reel with this project.

Assistant: Meghan Louw (https://www.facebook.com/meghanlouwmakeup/) recently graduated and works as a hair and make up artist, special effects make up artist and on set assistant. She and Tara make a great team.

General:

Assistant: Etienne Terblanche is not a filmmaker, but a family connection who offered his time to help with any needed tasks. He handled security, a lot of communication and made sure we all ate!

Catering: Désirée Terblanche is also a family connection who happens to be an amazing cook and organiser. She kept us running for two busy and energy consuming days!

Post Production:

Editor and Colourist: James Honiball (https://za.linkedin.com/in/jameshoniball) James holds a Honours degree in Film and Television Studies at UCT. He has honed his craft in screen writing, concept creation, editing and colour grading.  He is   knowledgeable on the technical aspects of the production process from pre to post. We are thrilled to have him on board

Composer: Kevin Smuts (www.kevinsmuts.com) is an award-winning film score composer who has been working on local and international documentaries and commercials for the past decade. Now entering his eleventh year in the industry, Kevin is looking to work on more short film projects for festivals, in order to break into the feature film industry.
